Biographical information
Asher A. Blass is the Founder and Managing Director of E.R.C.G., Economic Research and Consulting Group Ltd., providing corporate, law firm and government clients with clear analyses of complex economic and financial issues for use in strategic decisions, legal and regulatory proceedings and public policy debates. The firm, created in 2001, specializes in business consulting and public policy as well as Antitrust and other areas of litigation such as securities and damages.
Prior to his work at ERCG, Blass was a Chief Economist at the Research Department at the Bank of Israel, where he specialized in capital markets and industrial organization. His work on Israel capital markets and on the Israeli economy has been widely published in Israel and abroad. Dr. Blass is a frequent speaker at conferences and gatherings in Israel and abroad.
Dr. Blass has held appointments at Tel-Aviv University, Hebrew University, Wesleyan and Yale University. From 1988-1991 he was a Senior Economist at Lexecon, Inc. in Chicago a leading Law and Economics consulting firm. He holds the rank of Major (res.) and served as Staff Officer at the Budget Division of the Israel Defense Ministry from 1978 through 1983. He received his B.A. from Hebrew University; and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University in 1988.
