Biographical information
Rabbi Dr. Bernhard H. Rosenberg Ed.D, spiritual leader of Congregation Beth El, Edison, New Jersey, is the only child of Holocaust survivors, the late Jacob and Rachel Rosenberg. He has dedicated his life to educating people about the Holocaust.
Rabbi Rosenberg received his ordination and Doctorate of Education from Yeshiva University in New York. He teaches speech and communication at Rutgers University, as well as Holocaust studies at the Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School of Central New
Jersey. In addition, Rabbi Rosenberg teaches Holocaust studies in the graduate school of Rutgers. Rabbi Rosenberg's book Theological and Halachic Reflections on the Holocaust is now in its second printing. He is the author of A Guide for the Jewish
Mourner and Contemplating the Holocaust and has recently published What The Holocaust Means To Me: Teenagers Speak Out. Rabbi Rosenberg's next book will be The Holocaust: Where Was Man Where Was God. As interfaith chairman of the New Jersey State
Holocaust Commission, Rabbi Rosenberg was associate editor of the state mandated curriculum on Holocaust and Genocide. He recently received the Dr. Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award as well as the Chaplain of the Year Award from the New York Board of
Rabbis for his efforts during and following 9-11. Rabbi Rosenberg also was presented with the annual Rabbi Israel Mowshowitz Award by the New York Board of Rabbis. He appears frequently on radio and TV. Rabbi Rosenberg is well known for his use of humor,
which he utilizes in all his presentations.
