Biographical information
Bryan Mark Rigg received his B.A. with honors in history from Yale University in 1996. Yale awarded him the Henry Fellowship for graduate study at Cambridge University, where he received his M.A. in 1997 and Ph.D. in 2002. Currently Professor of History at American Military University, he has served as a volunteer in the Israeli Army and as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. His research for this book has been featured in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and London Daily Telegraph. His book, Hitler's Jewish Soldiers is the winner of the 2003 William E. Colby Award for military history. Rigg's latest book, RESCUED FROM THE REICH: How One of Hitler's Soldiers Saved the Lubavitcher Rebbe (Nov. 2004, Yale University Press), uncovers the story of a Jewish leader's astonishing rescue by a Nazi
soldier.
Rigg has spoken throughout the country at synagogues, temples, JCCs, public libraries, private book clubs, the Yale Club, Universities and retirement communities

- Hitler's Jewish Soldiers - Rigg will discuss the unknown chapter of the Holocaust and WWII where Jews and men of Jewish descent fought in the German Armed forces. Talk will be based on Rigg's book of same title.
- RESCUED FROM THE REICH: How One of Hitler's Soldiers Saved the Lubavitcher Rebbe - Will discuss the most unlikely escape of a Jew during WWII. Through contact with the White House, State Department, and German Secret Service, the Lubavitchers and host of many other players were able to secure the rescue of their famous leader, Rebbe Schneersohn. In fact, it was many of the German soldiers who were responsible for his rescue, some of whom were partially Jewish themselves.
