Biographical information

Marilyn Henry, a journalist for 25 years, is a contributing editor at ARTnews magazine in New York, where she specializes in reporting on the legal, diplomatic and historical aspects of the recovery of Nazi-looted cultural properties. Prior to ARTnews, she reported for the Jerusalem Post from Israel, New York and Europe. She is a recognized authority on the recovery of properties confiscated in Europe during the Nazi and communist eras. Her work also has appeared in the Washington Post, Die Welt and Cicero (Germany), Die Weltwoche and Tages Anzeiger (Switzerland), Jerusalem Report, Aufbau (New York and Zurich), Jewish Chronicle (London) and Nieuw Israelietisch Weekblad (Holland). She wrote the lead essay in the 2002 American Jewish Year Book on "Fifty Years of Holocaust Compensation," and her book on the history of the Claims Conference and German reparations to Nazi victims is due to be published by Vallentine-Mitchell (London). She has degrees from Rutgers, Penn State and Columbia universities.
